Look book - on the concept of ‘Perfectionism’ which explores the study the study of duality and destruction of self in order to achieve perfection.

Look One

Fabrics: Satin St Tropez

Fabrics: Satin Duchess, Satin Jemma, Tulle

This look focuses on combining a cage dress which symbolises the feeling of being trapped with a tulle overlay that represents suffocation. This look also combines the brands unique selling point of structured silhouettes with delicate fabrics.

Look Three

Look 3 focuses on combining structure with delicate fabrics. The boned shawl represents the cage and the feeling of being ‘trapped’.

The under dress and skirt also has subtle beading to represent the internal damage becoming external.

Fabrics: Jersey, Crinoline, Tulle

Look 5 showcases the internal damage becoming external. The shape of the neckline/godets came from design research on mirror shards.

The pink came from the study’s of the ballet shoes and the red represents the beauty of the pain.

The black shawl is boned to represent the feeling of being trapped and the colour symbolises destruction and the transition of letting go.

Look Two

Fabrics: Jersey, Tulle, Crinoline Mesh

Look Four

Look 4 combines a structured corset with seamless boning and a bubble skirt which shape came from research on the study of claustrophobia. The red tulle underlay skirt symbolises the beauty of the pain of internal damage.

Look Six

Look 6 showcases the reality and causes of obsession over perfectionism often leading to death. The corset features the seams being on the outside to represent destruction and to allow the corset to naturally fray over time to show this. The seams are also beaded to exhibit uncovering the trauma of physical breakdown stemming from mental breakdown.

This look represents and showcases the purity, innocence and the start of the journey of perfectionism. For this collection, I worked with a seamstress who specialises in historical corsetry for some of the finishings of my garments to ensure they are high end and within the luxury market as I was working with luxury fabrics.
